
Homeschooling on a Budget

You don't need to take a lot of money to homeschool your children. Sometimes it is financially hard to homeschool your children and here is a few ideas on how you can do it for free or extremely cheaply.
Do you have a Dollar store in your town? If you do here is a great resource for most of your homeschool needs. You can buy pencils, paper, workbooks, art project and science projects. Just use your imagination while shopping and you will be surprised what you can buy for only one dollar.
Contact your area public schools to see if they have any workbooks and textbooks that they no longer will be using. They usually will give these to you free of charge if you just ask.
A fantastic email group to join is called Freecycle. Here you can possible get music instruments and bookshelves and desks etc all for free you just have to go pick them up. Click here to visit the Freecycle main website. Freecycle
The Internet is a vast resource for educational information. You can make up your own lesson units using different websites all for just the price of your Internet connection. Also a lot of different websites will send you free educational materials.
From spring until fall you can go to yard sales and find a lot of wonderful cheap items to use with your children. As an example you can pick up reading books for maybe 10 cents a book. This way you can have your own home library.
Get together with other homeschool parents in your town and share materials that you may not be using anymore. A good example is textbooks you have already used that are still in great shape.
Visit your public library and you will find educational video's and also some libraries have computer programs that you can borrow. Also some libraries have a special services room where you can check out educational games and some free tutoring.
